About Ciele:
Ciele Beau studied at the University of Victoria (Victoria, Canada), graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual Arts major. It was during her time at UVic that she became aware of her synesthesia, not previously realizing that the way she perceived things was out of the ordinary. In one of her painting classes the instructor asked them to paint a song and try not to be literal about the contents of the music. This seemed an intuitive task for Ciele and she created the painting "Pro Nails (Rusko Remix)". A year later one of her classmates had asked if she'd ever heard of synesthesia because they'd remembered that painting, but she hadn't. Ciele was intrigued and began researching, soon to realize that there was singular word that described her experiences. With a sense of curiosity, confusion, and determination Ciele dove into exploring synesthesia within her art practise and finding methods of translating that experience in a unique way to give a general audience of non-synesthetes a window into what some individuals with synesthesia might experience.
Ciele also does work as an illustrator, and graphic designer. She received a 2D Design certificate from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2017. You can see more of her work on her primary website here.
She is also a musician and songwriter. You can listen to her music here.
